Ooliyasthanam Teacher Training Institute in Tirunelveli, established in 1895, aims to prepare teachers by providing fundamental knowledge in teaching and education, focusing on practical skills for primary levels (D.El.Ed) through NCTE-approved programs.

The institution develops confident educators with subject mastery, understanding of child psychology, and modern pedagogical techniques. Its core objective involves holistic teacher development for elementary education.

Situated on the outskirts of Tirunelveli Town in a sprawling campus of 11.5 acres, the institute was founded by missionary-founder Miss. D.M. Labrooy. Since its inception, the institution has served as a beacon light to countless generations of women, preparing competent and committed teachers to play their role in society and the nation.

The institution received permanent recognition in 1934 and later recognition from SRC-NCTE in 1993.
